About
Caroline Watson
I am a counsellor/family mediator and divorce coach based in Sevenoaks and Tunbridge Wells.
My career starting with training to be a nurse at The Royal London Hospital (many years ago!). After marriage and a career break to bring up children I decided to study to become a counsellor. I had witnessed someone close to me struggle with debilitating depression and anxiety, which made me want to learn more about these conditions and how I could help. Years spent at college, and reading lots of books, taught me to be a counsellor, but I believe that the true learning of how to be an effective counsellor began during my first session with a client. At that point I moved from learning about counselling to learning how to be a counsellor, and how to interact with a person who has come to me for help in dealing with their life problems.
Having qualified I accepted a challenging role in developing a voluntary counselling service within a large GP Practice in East Sussex, which I ran successfully for five years. Since qualifying I have gained diplomas in both hypno-therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and I am a registered member of the UK Association for Humanistic Psychology Practitioners (UKAHPP).
Ever hungry to learn and develop my skills, in 2018 I trained as a family mediator and most recently as a divorce coach and am a registered member of Resolution, a 'family' of law professionals trusted to help sort out issues involving the breakdown of your marriage, care of your children, your home and your finances.
